Drive Them Out

I was reading about when Jesus went to Jerusalem and drove the salesmen and their merchandise out telling them not to defile the temple. Bear with me here, this is interesting.

In the John 2 version of the story he goes on to say "Destroy this temple,  and in three days I will raise it up."  And the people didn't understand because it takes so long to build the temple but then in verse 21 it says "But he spake of the temple of his body." Because our bodies are temples of flesh and they were to defile His body and He would rise again after 3 days.

Here's my thought. Parallel the temple in this story with our bodies. This is one of the only accounts in the scriptures I am aware of when Christ is angry.  But it is clear Christ would be even more angry about the way we defile the bodies of His children today (through abuse, etc). He would drive the abusers out.

This is a perfect example of righteous anger.

I love when something in the scriptures can clarify and expand in meaning and truth.
